Awnings are not only functional but
provide decoration to your home or business, increasing
their beauty and value. Awnings offer many benefits and one of the
greatest benefits is the increased energy savings they
provide. A study by the American Society of Heating and
Air Conditioning Engineers shows that exterior fabric
window awnings can reduce interior heat in homes and
businesses by 77% in periods of direct sunlight.
Awning fabrics are available in
hundreds of colors and patterns. You’ll
be able to enjoy worry-free outdoor living, protect
furniture and carpet from fading and experience stylish
on-demand protection from the elements with easy push
button convenience. Awnings are affordable and offer
a great investment for any home or building.
Commercial Use
Retractable Awnings come in many
different forms: Pole
mounted, free standing, rolling/trolley system framing,
tension awning systems, drop arm, manual and motorized
are just some of the options. These versatile awnings
are suitable for a variety of applications including:
sidewalk cafes, banquet or catering hall patios, decks
or terraces, hotel pool areas, office entrances, exterior
walkways or dining areas, warehouse loading docks and
more.
Stationary Awnings
Sunesta ? awnings address the unique needs of
your business or building through custom design and fabrication,
whether for protecting stair cases or placing an awning
over outside refrigeration equipment for restaurants.
Canopy Awnings
There are several different configurations, styles and
designs available for Canopies. A Shed style
canopy is used over windows and can even include a
business logo. Canopies use an egg crate covering
on the underside to hid the framing structure from
view. These awnings can have lighting included.
Warehouses and distribution centers can use canopy awnings
to provide protection from rain and snow at the loading
docks. This not only adds functionality, but beautifies
the facility.
Dome Style Canopies add character and be used
for entrances.
Entrance Canopy Awnings offer
more versatility. They can be sized to create cover
for just the entrance or large enough to cover a patio.
Standard Installation - Wall Mount
Whittington Construction Group will install your awnings using
only licensed
and trained installers. Our expertise allows us
to offer you a two year installation guarantee to protect
your beautiful new investment. In most cases the
retractable awning can be installed on an exterior wall
of the home. There is no problem installing on vinyl,
wood or a specialty material such as concrete board.
Our installers will locate the studs or header and attach
the awning with lag screws through siding material into
the structure of the house. If your home is constructed
of brick, our experts will determine the exact installation
of the awning. In some cases such as newer brick
homes, we can install through the brick to the structure
of the home. Other situations may require an epoxy fastener
system that allows the awning to be secured to the brick
surface itself. Drivit or stucco surfaces usually allow
the awning to be attached to the wall. The installation
will need to be inspected by our experts to determine
the correct method. Stucco or drivit may require an additional
board to support the awning.
Sofit or Roof Mount Installation
Ranch and tri-level style homes often
lack enough clearance or height to allow wall mount installation.
In those cases, we will install the awning to the roof
using specialized roof brackets. Roof brackets are carefully
installed by our experts using a three point process that
allows Whittington Construction Group to offer a guarantee
water-tight seal(?). The brackets
lift the awning about the gutter allowing the water to
flow under the awning. A roof mounted awning will
not interfere with drainage of water off the roof. |
